Perfect little hostel to escape city life and relax in a sleepy mountain village. Convenient location between Krakow and Bratislava/Budapest. Friendly staff, easy access to the mountains for hiking or skiing, day trips available to castles, caves, etc. and an adorable dog. This place has it all.

Booked for one week and stayed for two! Great place to base yourself for hiking and for relaxing/recovering from hiking! Manager is very helpful guy who will patiently explain where to go and how to get there in terms of both exploring the area and onward travels

Only regret about staying at the ginger monkey is that we didn't stay longer. The 2 lovely women that were running the hostel whilst we were there made you feel right at home and were always very helpful. 2 nights was not long enough! Would defiantly stay again!

Really chilled, homely, social, and clean. Loads of outdoor activities and inside entertainment if the weather is bad. Fully equipped kitchen and comfy living room. Even though the hostel was pretty quiet when I was there, Ben, who worked there by himself at the time, made sure we had fun! Bring allergy tablets if you are allergic to cats or dogs. I spent 6 nights here and could have stayed longer!

Danka is the best host (and amazing chef) ever! We had an amazing time at the Ginger Monkey with Wally, Django and Kevin. The house is absolutely charming, homely, clean and has good hot water. The dorms are spacious and comfortable. Thanks Danka, we hope to come back again!!
